I just stumbled upon two new bands that are really, really good

The Big Wu
Reid Genauer & the Association of Dust

Check 'em out. Very mellow, laid back Grateful Dead-ish type of sound.

10 Years - Beautiful
Machine Head - Now I Lay Thee Down
Theory of a Deadman - Bad Girlfriend
Midnight to Twelve - Slam
Nonpoint - In the Air Tonight (Collins Cover)
Nonpoint - Alive and Kicking
Five Finger Death Punch - The Bleeding
Rehab - Bartender Song aka Sittin' at a Bar
Trapt - Wasteland
Trapt - Who's Going Home With You Tonight?

I've got a few Dropkick Murphy's CDs. I think they suck lately (They totally sold out & went Blink 182 Pop-punk IMO) but their earlier stuff really kicks ass. I REALLY like "Sing Loud, Sing Proud".

Actually, my taste has gotten a bit softer. Still enjoy Slipknot, In Flames, Killswitch Engage. I just need some music with double bass, fast machine gun guitar riffs, and a bit of screaming.

However, when I am chillin' out back on the patio, I turn into Patrick Bateman and go all 80s. Also enjoy house/techno/trance from time to time. My taste is all over the place.

Hell, I can also sing every word of "Friends in Low Places," "Sold (the bidding song)," and a bunch of other country stuff.

Ummm, Patrick Bateman wasn't necessarily the poster boy for chill, although he was into Phil Collins, actually more Genesis I guess. Just curious, do you own any large knives?

Just want to thank you again Chris for turning me on to Beth Hart. Got her "Live at the Paradiso" CD yesterday and my freaking god does she rip in a concert setting. You almost expect blood from her vocal cords to start spattering out of the cd player. At one point on this disc she mentions that she's been sober for 16 months, but as the disc moves along and she becomes more, more manic with the performance you start thinking maybe her meds need to be tweaked juuuuuussssst a little bit. She's definitely in the top drawer for me as a female vocalist! Love it!

Awesome, I've yet to get that one but I've heard quite a bit of her live stuff and really liked it. Susan Tedeschi is coming to Harrisburg in October, she's another great female vocalist. Prolly gonna make that show if the stars align properly with the moon and all that

And with any luck Derek will be with her......

That just made me think..... if you haven't heard the new Buddy Guy cd "Skin Deep" you need to. Best BG disc in a while - Susan Tedeschi sings and plays on a track, Trucks is on a couple of tracks, Clapton on a track, 8 or 10 year old guitar phenom Quinn Sullivan is even on a track and BG's vocals and licks are as good as ever.

Just gotta hammer this nail again. Man that Beth Hart can rip..... Listening to her "Whole Lotta Love" live cover on the way in this morning at maximum volume. Good god. If she'd recorded it first Led Zep would have been covering her. Absolutely killer!!!

She's got an absolutely killer voice. I love listening to good female blues singers...but she really takes the cake IMO. Think I'm gonna pick Immortal for the first thing to listen to here at work this morning now that ya made me think of her...

Re: Music to burn sticks by.......

Lately I've been enjoying some fun merengue, bachata, and cumbias while puffing. If you ever scour the net look for SalsaDrama CDs.
