Talking Cigar guy making a scary transition!

Not new to puff.com but am new to pipe smoking. So far I love it! I might fall for pipes in a way I didn't with cigars (do not tell my cigars this!). Whatever modest things I've started out with I've been able to do with the help of everyone on this forum. Thank you all kindly for the kindness and knowledge you put into the best forum on the internet!

Welcome to the pipe side, and you're absolutely right on the transition thing. My experience has been the same. Still enjoy my cigars, but I reach for my pipe way more often.

Re: Cigar guy making a scary transition!

New to this forum, started smoking pipes a couple of years ago when I inherited a bunch of pipe tobacco and have moved from cigars to pipes. It takes some getting used to. Cigars are so easy, apply fire, puff until fingers are in danger of burning, discard. Pipes take practice; tamping, packing, choosing tobacco, choosing pipe shapes, etc. However, the longer I'm at it, the more I find pipes more satisfying than cigars.

Pipes are indeed fun. Welcome to the pipe side of puff. There is plenty of info here to keep you interested.

Can't find the exact quote right now, but runs something like this:

    cigarrettes are an addiction
    cigars are a hobby
    pipes are a religion
