LouDog, if you wait until later in life there won't be any room left for cabin homes up here; I guess we are the opposite, I love your area. I've invested in some property in La Quinta and in Cathedral City over the years - would do it again once the housing market stabilizes and I can be dissuaded of my fears about the death of smoking on the west coast.

What an exceptional view of the smoke - very sad events, but at least it kept some of the snowbirds out of your area for a while

Arizona my friend! I was down this summer and wow, its just like over here,
but is has its differentness, good ones, I like it over there a lot more than
here, my friend lives in Goodyear near Avondale and Buckeye and from
what I've heard its a housing market boom over there, I think all those places I just listed where in the top 5 places to live in the u.s in that area
alone. haha man those snowbirds should be coming in the next month.
but a lot of people who were affected by the fires came down here, so
its like the same think.

Its good to hear from another person from the Northwest! I grew up in the portland area, and now live north of there, but I travel back to Portland every other month or so. There are no good tobacco stores where I live, so I do all my tobacco shopping in Portland. I am mainly a pipe smoker, but I also love cigars.

Had two places paid off down there - I don't do debt, I'm a member of the Dave Ramsey cult, but I've sold down to owning a quarter of one home. Arizona does have it's perks, but all the nice cigar areas aren't made for people my age - I'm not much older than you. I like Oregon for now, but I might have to organize a smokers coup in New York someday.\

Thanks for the welcomes all, and good to see you as well Jack - I don't smoke my pipe nearly enough anymore, only when work isn't going as fast as it should, but there are alot of pipe smokers in the area and it's an great thing.

Yeah the summer that just passed Arizona had a peek, but I'm to sure
how that hole thing works, so I guess I wouldn't know when its good,
or not. from what I see there a lot of older smokers in AZ, but I knew
quite a few in our age group over there.

I spent a lot of time in Oregon in my youth. Many of my relatives settled in the Grants Pass area. Lumber...... nuff said.
