Lurker makes it official in Massachusetts

These forums have been my my first source of info with anything cigars for a little over a year. I'd come here and search forums for what I was looking for (amazing level of knowledge here). Figured I'd make it official and join, so if I had a question I could ask.

Live South of Boston, if not on my deck with a smoke I am found in either Providence, RI (Tammany Hall in Federal Hill), Boston (Cigar Masters or Stanza dei Sigari), or in the summer, Newport with a post-dinner cigar whenever I can.

I am an engineer going for my MBA at night, and live, breath and die Green Bay Packer football (been to Lambeau Field three times and Soldiers Field once for Packer games). Fan since 1978 when I received an autograph from Bart Starr when I was a eight, who was a coach at the time. Never looked back.

Smoking cigars since a college trip in the 90s to Montreal, where on a whim I picked up a Cuban to smoke, and was never the same.

Looking forward to learning a lot, as I always thought I knew my cigar stuff until I came here....lol. A lot to learn. Thanks.

Welcome aboard from Western MA - where do you go in Newport? My whole family is there. I'm the one who moved off the island

You name it; Cookhouse, 22 Bowens (best steak in Newport in my humble opinion), Asterisk (remeber smoking cigars at the bar there in the winter before the ban), and in the summer, the West Deck, where I can smoke a cigar at the outside bar. Tuckers Bistro is another great place to eat out of the main area that I love.

Are you familiar with where Christy's used to be? Its now 41 North (I think thats the name, not 100% sure), its a private club, but with a nice twist in my opinion; you pay $400 to join, but get that amount in credit for food and drinks. You are allowed to bring 3 other guests at any time. Was not really interested until my brother (who is a member) told me that they have a real nice outside area where you can smoke cigars..........count me in. They are still under renovations this winter, so they are closed, but will be opening back up in the spring.

I know all those places. I worked at the Black Pearl in high school in the kitchen. Went from washing pots and pans to cooking lobsters - that gave me all the incentive I needed to go to college and get a good job! My sister works at O'Brien's Pub at nights there. I don't go downtown much in Newport anymore. I mooch off my brother and sister when I visit
