[SIZE=2]Greetings from the “Birthplace of the Beer Can:” Richmond, VA![/SIZE]

[SIZE=2]Started smoking cigars about 15 years ago, almost always as part of a social event--while golfing, after a business dinner, or while hanging out with the guys. Not much of a “connoisseur” at the time, just smoked whatever I was given or what looked good in the shop. Got some bad cigars that way. So it wasn’t too difficult, then, to give up cigars in order to set a good example for my kids, who were young and impressionable. Now that they are older (just them, not me,) and can be reasoned with (just them, not me,) I can light up at my leisure. Still don’t ever see myself as becoming anything approaching a “connoisseur”-- I’m more interested in simply indulging once a week or so, to savor, relax and enjoy. Kind of like my approach to food, wine or beer: Life’s too short, I’m only going to eat/drink/smoke what I like. The enjoyable part is figuring out what I like![/SIZE]

[SIZE=2]My primary hobby is home brewing, been doing that for almost 20 years now. Can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can light up a stogie while brewing up a batch of IPA! Hope to find a few fellow brewers on this board.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=2]In the past few weeks since lurking here, I’ve uncovered a wealth of information--thanks to so many of you for that! I’m currently seasoning a 100 ct Bally humidor my wife got me for Valentine’s Day (how cool is that?!) ordered some humidor beads & a digital hygrometer from Heartfelt, discovered the devil site & made ~~one~~ ~~two~~ ~~three~~ a few purchases, and have even recorded a couple reviews on top25cigar. I typically like to dive right in to my hobbies--no sense in doing something halfway--so you guys/gals have been a big help. I hope to return the favor down the line.[/SIZE]

Its been about 3 yrs now since I've worked-up a batch of homebrewed Bitter Ale and IPA (both my favorite homebrews). Will get back into it once I'm able to secure another frig for the garage for temp control fermenting. Good to have you on board Gerard...
