Ryan, see if you can find Steven Ferguson (assaultnco here on CS) at Camp Taji. Tony (newcigarz) and I send him cigars donated by Club Stogie.

And welcome to CS!

I wouldn't send him the residue in my ashtray.

Let me bring back an old topic here -

Tell me what happened the last time someone did this.

I was there 3 years ago now and we ordered our own cigars from Thompsons and JR all the time. No one sent us CHIT, and we still smoked at least 3 times a week. Again, I'm all about helping out the boys, but if you guys are so desperate, order some yourselves until people from the forum can send some your way. I don't buy the "unless you send us some, noone will smoke" plea though
Now, we have someone that created an account specifically to get cigars, then LIED right off the bat to everyone here, then lied AGAIN in a PM to macms.

Now, for those of us who have been here multiple times, it makes us feel like a$$hats when guys like this do this sort of thing.

I agree with with Tobii. For those that are over here, we see so many troops taking advantage of the support from folks back home. Tobii's point is clear. It's different coming into a room asking for support rather than introducing yourself then reaping the benifits of generosity.

The Good CPT i'm sure has every intention in supporting his troops, but unfortunatly for those that have been around here too we've all experianced abuse to that line as well.

Bottom line, CPT Mac deserves the support of those that wish to support him. Tobii's valid point was that its unprofessional to seek that support. A simple "Hey I just signed on this site, i'm currently deployed to Taji" would have went alot farther. Just my two cents, please dont take it the wrong way!

Currently Active duty - recently back from Iraq. I agree with Tobii - There are many resources to get stogies - but asking on your first post - without any lube is poor etiquette in my opinion.

To everyone I apologize about the bad etiquette of my first post. I made a mistake. I’m a noob both to cigars and the site. What else can I do? Should I never return to this site?
I don’t know a thing about cigars, all I know is that the other day a Soldier gave me a cigar to smoke and I really enjoyed it. I thought I would return the favor so I got on-line to find some cigars and get educated. Sure I found this site on a google search, my bad!
To say I joined specifically to get cigars is false. Club Stogie is an amazing site and I have learned a lot in just the short time I have been exploring it. Have I posted anything other then on this thread? No! But what do I have to say? Nothing intelligent concerning cigars. So I have been reading posts and learning and the only negative thing so far is this thread. I have been completely honest with every post I have made and to say otherwise is ridiculous. I’m done defending myself and my integrity on this thread.

Re: Just getting started in Baghdad

My two cents worth is if a newbie steps in , perhaps he should be educated in private instead of thrashing the guy in public. I thank him for his service even behind a desk. remember he can not go see his family at the end of the day and sleep in his own bed tonight. Let's lighten up and show him the way of the jungle. If anyone is putting something together for this newbie, pm me for a contribution. IMHO, that's they way to show him what being a BOTL is about.
