Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

Is there any way to contact the seller on cigarbid to ask a question? I am looking at getting a humidor but don't know if these are brand new and with original accessories or what..

thanks

Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

As far as I know, I think everything is new.

I think the email is customerservice at cigarbid.com, but not exactly sure on that. (yep, that's it)

Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

Cigarbid is the same as CI just their auction site so usually everything is the same as if purchasing from CI.

Welcome!

I would add my voice to the chorus of people urging you to check out the Newbie PIF and Newbie Sampler threads before commiting to buying anything online. You may find a hidden gem in the sticks you're sent that will have you changing your mind about what to buy.

welcome to the jungle, Don't bother with a humidor,Get a cooler, some beads, and a digital hygrometer and your set for at least a year. Depending on the size of cooler you buy.

Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

so do u guys think it's worth getting these samplers http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...3&cat=6&page=1
http://www.thompsoncigar.com/default...earch&uid=1820
http://www.thompsoncigar.com/default...earch&uid=1979

or should I just keep an eye out for specials or other deals. I am looking to get a 100 ct humidor in the coming week. So I am shoppin around for what to fill it with and I want to get a good range of cigars and not be stuck with one brand/flavor.

Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

Ok here are my thoughts on it take them as you like.
First, I wanted to say just like you I wanted to try different cigars and bought from Thompson's. I thought they had a great selection and pretty decent prices (no flogging please I now know better). Their cigars are fine I just have one major problem with them. If you look in the small print it says they have the right to substitute cigrs so alot of times I would find myself with cigars that I had no clue what they were. That being said I was really new to cigars and couldn't and sometimes still have issues trying to figure out what gurkha I have. They don't send a list of what kind of cigars come in a pack so if like me sometimes you have to do a blind search. So long story short for "green" newbies Thompson's isn't very user friendly. If you are going to get a 100 count humidor this next week then I would hold off on the CI deal. I think I would go on over to C-bid and pick up a few 5 packs to try to begin with and also sign up for the Newbie trades. It helps you meet some people and gives you a nice assortment of different sticks. As for Thompson's I'm just informing you the picture they show just might not be what you are getting and personally I like to know what I'm buying.

Re: Newbie to cigars and the community

I started my cigar journal today, I found a cool organizer notebook that's leather and put a nice pen in there and bam! Now I will remember what I smoke and how well I enjoyed it. Thanks for the tips.
