Greetings from the sandbox in Iraq

Hey everyone! My name is 1LT Mike Almeyda and I am new to this forum. I am currently on my second combat tour in Iraq. I'm in Baghdad right now. A little background about myself: I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York for majority of my life. I attended college at the United States Military Academy (West Point) and graduated with a BS in Computer Science and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps in the US Army. My home station is at Fort Carson in Colorado. I'm 24 yrs old and engaged to be married when I return home in March of 2009. I'm an Executive Officer in a Signal Company and I deal with supply and maintenance. One of the reasons I joined this forum is to try and start something nice for my Soldiers. They constantly go through a lot of stress on a daily basis. I want to start a weekly cigar night as a way to just relax and smoke a fine cigar. My buddy CPT Mac, who is also on this forum, has been giving me some cigars from donations that have been given to him so I can start a cigar night of my own down here. If anyone would like to donate some cigars for the troops, send me a PM and I would be more than happy to share my APO address with you. Thanks for providing this great forum. I now have 9 months to be come a great cigar connoisseur.

Starting him off with the devil site!!! Good Job!!
You'll find some great deals there!
Pick up some samplers and try some of the smokes CPT Mac sends you, you'll discover your likes and dislikes!

Welcome!

Welcome to CS man. I highly recommend the Rocky Patel Vintage 90s or 92s. Either are great smokes. My personal favorite is the CAO MX2.

Re: Greetings from the sandbox in Iraq

Keep track of what Cpt Mac pases to you - do like the rest of us and keep a notebook with the bands in it - pencil in the good notes, bad notes, etc...

You'll be able to hang with the big dogs in no time!!

Since the Devil Site has already been suggested, I'll throw in some other recommendations....

Famous Smoke Shop Auctions

JR Cigars Auctions

Thompsons Cigar Auctions

Good Luck!!

Re: Greetings from the sandbox in Iraq

Hey all,

So I just found out this morning that I am going to pin on CPT on July 1st. I have decided to go with the Padron 1964 Anniversary Torpedo as a celebratory cigar. Does anyone know where I can purchase a box of these fine cigars online? I can only seem to find singles on most websites.

Thanks for your help in advance

-Mikey
