Hello from Philadelphia
How's everybody doing, my name's Benjamin. 19 year old college student from Philadelphia, working as an intern at an ad agency this summer.
Started smoking cigars...oh, maybe a month ago. I was in Miami (Little Havana to be precise) with my family and we stopped in one of the little smoke shops, Casa Bello & Bello, and picked up a couple cigars. Had one that night with my grandpa and three brothers, and it was delicious. My gramps gave me a box of ten-year old, still shrink-wrapped Don Diego coronas which are in surprisingly good, smokeable condition. Since then I've been frequenting Holt's Cigars on Walnut Street in Philadelphia and picking up some singles (Arturo Fuente, Sosa, Aroma de Cuba, Romeo y Julieta) which I must say I've been enjoying lately. Just ordered a humidor from Thompson Cigar (the devil, I know, but I placed the order before I found out about this forum) that's coming with 25 cigars which I've heard will probably be terrible. But oh well, the humidor should be nice and the price was cheap. So hello to all. Hope there are some other Philadelphians or Phillies fans on this forum- anyone? |

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. So two questions- first off, proving noob status, what does the acronym BOTL mean on here? And second, for everything from the Philadelphia area, where do you guys go to buy your sticks?

Hey Benjamin, welcome to CS. I am also from Jersey and any B&M's I visit are typically on this side of the bridge. Unfortunately for me I have only one nice tobacconist reasonably (Greentree Tobacco in Washington Township), whereas you have a lot of options in Philly. I've been to Holt's which is great IMO, and I've also heard good things about Black Cat Cigars and Liberty Cigars. Have yet to stop by either of those though.
