Greetings from South Bend
I am a newbie in all respects. Smoked my first (that I liked anyway) cigar last February, 2005. I was in Zurich on business and went into a shop with a friend who was picking up some ISOMs. I told the proprietor that I didn’t like cigars, and asked him to recommend one that would “get me hooked”. Without hesitating he reached over and grabbed a Montecristo No. 4. It was awesome, and some ~100 cigars later I’m addicted.

Since my February romance with the Montecristo, I have read 2 books on the topic of cigars, obtained a subscription to Cigar Aficionado, and spend hundreds of hours researching cigars on the internet. Cigars have become a hobby, as well as an addiction.

Best cigars I have smoked so far: (1) Cohiba Double Coronas Edicion Limitada 2003 (2) Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Torpedo: aged- how long is unknown (3) El Rey Del Mundo (H) Robusto Larga: aged 7 months (4) Perdomo Champagne Toro (5) CAO Brazillia Anaconda.

welcome to CS. don't take the ratings in CA seriously. the raters only smoke the first 1/4" of the cigars they review, and they final ratings are heavily biased toward how much money that company pays in advertising $$$.

top25cigar.com is an excellent place to read REGULAR CIGAR SMOKIN GUY reviews of cigars. guys/gals like you and I...

the place to learn is on the 'net from experienced smokers.

Good advice indeed! I have learned volumes from top25 and from experienced guys like IHT and others...enjoy your stay here in the Jungle!!
