I have to fix the "What is This" link. I only put it up there to save some PM's. I don't know how to fix it to only show up when the meter does. Way beyond my computer skills.

I think I know how to fix this. Change the name to:

The Hugs System - A hug is gentle way for a moderator to let you know your not playing nice. If you accumulate 5 hugs at any one time (hugs expire you know), you are gently "kissed" goodbye.

I think folks will be much less alarmed at a Hug-Meter.

I would like it if you would expain exactly what thisautomated warning meter looks for in order to warn us... Things can be written in a way that looks mean despite obvious joking intentions... computers don't understand cynicism, something that i tend to be quite full of.

Can you tell us exactly what we aren't supposed to do/say?

I think this is the way it works:


If you do something against the rules of CS...but you do it without intent to be a dick (like a newbie not reading the rules and asking for a source)...you will probably get a 20% warning. I think the mods can see your warning level and comments, so its not like every mod will mistakenly jump on you for something like that.

If, after being told you did a no-no, you proceed to call K-hat an asshat, say something about Dave's mother, mock Greg for his rather homosexual goatee, call Paul's state a tumor on the belly of Canada, call Sean a Republican, etc etc, you will likely get toasted and be banned.

Once banned, I think that it will be discussed among the mods as to whether you're gone for a week to cool off, or you are just a cheating scumbag trying to take advantage of people on the bombs/trades and you deserve a lifelong ban.

These mods, besides being good guys, pride themselves on the No Snob/Clean Slate/No need to kiss FOG ass personality that this site has. You will not be banned for poor spelling, lack of paying tribute, or any crap like that. Just don't go looking for trouble and it will not find you.
