What's good! Greetings from New York

Hey guys,

The name is Matt. I just turned 18 a few weeks ago and started smoking cigars back in May of '08. I've been a very very casual smoker from that time on; doing so on 1-3 occasions per month.

I found Club Stogie very early on in my journey through cigar smoking and you all have helped a great deal. I finally decided to register because I have some questions of my own, and just enjoy good company.

First things first: I'm a very new smoker. I enjoy it thoroughly but have never had the pleasure of smoking a real premium cigar. I started on your standard gas station flavored Phillies, but am looking to expand my horizons. I've seen some starter cigar suggestions for other people, but I'll ask for myself. I enjoy a good flavor, but I'm open to trying anything. I don't have very much money, but that certainly won't stop me for saving up for something nice. What sorts of cigars that aren't more than $10-15 bucks a pop should I look into?

Second: I'm looking to get a small Humidor to store my cigars. Something like a 10-30 cigar kind of thing. What would be the best place to look, and what exactly should I be looking for to ensure a quality product?

Thanks for any input you may have. I look forward to meeting you all.

Re: What's good! Greetings from New York

Welcome to CS Matt! Where in NY are you? There is a long way to go up from blunts. If flavored cigars is what you like than try brands like CAO,or Drew estate. However dont limit yourself to flavored cigars, try to sample different sizes, strengths and brands until you find what you like. Remember to take your time smoking a cigar and always wet your whistle, you will be able to get alot more enjoyment and flavor out of a smoke. If money is a concern check online retailers as there prices will be better than a gas station or Te-Amo shop. An on-line cigar may cost $4 where a cigar shop might charge $8 for the same cigar. Remember more expensive doesn't always mean better. If you look around there are some good starter combo deals to be found. Here are two:

This one is good because you can try 10 different brands all with 90+ ratings and it comes with a humidor.
