New inexperienced member and some "instant karma"

Hello all!

I've been lurking around here for the past few weeks and soaking up all the information I can get (and there's a lot on here).

I'm a college student who resides and goes to school in Georgia. I have only tried a few smokes over the past several months, but I am looking to gather more experience and get more into the hobby. I have a medium sized desktop humidor from cheapcigars.com along with a digital hygrometer and some of the 65% beads from Heartfelt.

The humidor currently contains about a dozen various cigars from Rocky Patel, Partagas, Romeo y Julieta, Punch, Ashton, Montecristo, and H. Upmann. I picked those up from my local B&M while I was looking to try a good variety. I plan to start buying a good many more cigars soon, especially with the wide variety and good prices that I've found online. This forum has helped pique my interest in several brands and cigars I haven't tried, including Oliva, Padron, and Perdomo.

Oh yes, as for the "instant karma" I was referring to...

On a forum that I frequent, they have a concept called "karmas." People give away items (we've had anything from gift cards to books to electronics and even firearms and ammo). Most of the time people post these and have members reply, and after a set period of time, one is randomly selected as the winner. Other times the first one to reply gets the item. The idea is to give back to the community and even gain some good "karma" for one's self.

This forum seems to have similar generosity among the members, at least from what I've seen of cigars and other items given to other members. Anyway, I'm giving away a puck humidifier (the standard kind with the foam inside) and a 4 oz. bottle of activator solution (50/50 distilled water and PG), both from cheaphumidors.com. I no longer need either and would like to give them away to someone who can use them, so the first person to reply saying you want it will get it! I know it's not much, but maybe someone can get some use out of them.

I look forward to participating in this forum and learning more about this great hobby!

Welcome to the Ocean, man. Great offer you're doin', not in need personally either, but I'm sure someone is!

And, if you want to try a good, cheap cigar- Try an Oliva O Serie, I think you might like it.

Re: New inexperienced member and some "instant karma"

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

The Oliva O is definitely on my list.

The humidifier and solution are no longer up for grabs. A deserving fellow pufferfish has asked for them, and I'll have them sent off in the next couple of days.

Fellow newbie here. It sounds like we have similar tastes. Have you tried the RP Vintage 1990 and 1992?

I go to school at Emory University in Atlanta, and my home is in Cherokee County, basically on the edge of metro Atlanta.

I have yet to try those, but I'm about to order a sampler that contains both. I'm very much looking forward to smoking them!

My local B&M had the 1990, then I got a sampler from Cigars International that had both. Great tasting smokes, both of them.
