Confessions of an antique...
...tool collector and stogie lover.
I've read the entire "Cigar Questions" forum and decided to finally stop lurking. I've really appreciated the info I've gleaned here, especially regarding cheap cooler/fridge humidors and using humidity beads. I adopted stogies about 9 years ago. Started with mild H.Upmann Chairman's Reserve and RyJ Vintage VI. I then discovered spicey sun grown wrappers and never looked back. Cigars and single-malt scotch are nearly synonymous for me. Except for visits to cigar lounges now and then, I only smoke outdoors. My favorite smoke is on the sand in Destin, FL during an early Spring beach trip. I don't smoke often, perhaps 50 cigars a year, so each cigar is a cherished treat. I plan to keep it that way. Until recently, I've never stocked more than 50 cigars in my desktop humidor. The pending SCHIP assault on cigars has inspired me to put down a ten-year supply. My desktop and new Vinotemp are now full, but my recently acquired 120 quart Igloo cooler is only half-full. That will be corrected soon as possible. By the way, Jarrod from TexCigars is a great store. Highly recommended! I don't think he gets enough attention around here. A rough listing of my inventory reflects my taste for medium-to-full body smokes... Ashton VSG, ESG, and San Cristobal Diamond Crown Maximus Don Pepin Blue Fuente Opus X, Añejo, Hemmingway SStory, and King B H.Upmann Vintage Camaroon and Reserve Maduro Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 La Aroma de Cuba Especial La Flor Dominicana Coronado, Double Ligero, and Mysterio La Riqueza Oliva Serie V (Belicoso, Lancero, and Maduro) Padron 1926, 1964, and 3000 Maduros Perdomo 10th Anniversary Cabinet Rocky Patel Decade and Sun Grown Tatuaje Cabinet, Reserva J21, and Havana VI Best cigars of my life? Padron 1926 Maduro #9, La Flor Double Ligero Lancero, and La Flor Coronado. I've had a few magical Opus X and Añejo, but high-end Fuentes are the Russian roulette of cigars. Not that I don't keep spinning that roulette wheel. ![]()

A great read! Hope you enjoy your stay here as I have. It's a real brotherhood (without the tattoos and gang handshakes!)

Re: Confessions of an antique...
Welcome to Puff... Glad to see that you've started posting. We have similar tastes in cigars. I think smoking only 50 year definately makes each cigar more memorable. Which LFD DL Lancero did you smoke? I believe it comes in an Oscuro, Oscuro Natural, and Cameroon Wrapper. The cammie is my preference!

The Lancero Oscuro. It was an epiphany for me. I finally
understood what reviewers meant by the term "leather".

Re: Confessions of an antique...
Thanks! I already have found this to be the most amicable
forum in which I've ever participated. Probably doesn't matter to anyone, but I was wrong about the La Flor Lancero. It was the Oscuro Natural, which seems a bit of an oxymoron to me. I asked the B&M owner and he just shrugged. Some on-line research reveals that it's a natural Sumatra wrapper that Litto "treats" with a top-secret process which makes it dark and sweeter. Interesting. Has any insider gossip given more details on this process? Regardless, it's an awesome smoke.
