Hi I'm Kate

Hi I'm Kate and I enjoy the finer things in life, especially fine wine, tasty food and good times. I like cigars, but am a bit new to them. I've tried some cuban cigars which hooked me. My friends aren't so into them (they like cigarettes - ew) so I'm excited about meeting people on this board who dig the cig (ar).

the great thing about being new to cigars is that you have all that enjoyment of expiramentation ahead. the simplest rule to getting the most enjoyment out of any cigar is to remember that if you pay big bucks for a cigar it is alot easier to be disappointed, and over time through trial and error you will find that a great smoke is not just the cigar but the company and the environment, christ even the time of the year can influence the flavor. I alway's try to put myself in the best of these elements that I can and let the chips fall where the may. Remember if an expensive cigar tastes great, it should but a great cigar that is not expensive is even better.

burn long, and tight ashes, Phil

Katie! That's so cool that you signed up!

Thanks for joining in. I'm looking forward to discussing cigars amongst other things with you. We can smoke some together when you're down here next month.

ˇBienvenidos Heavymetal!

Thanks for signing up and posting. I'm glad you enjoy the site. I hope to hear lots from you on the board being a 20-year veteran cigar smoker.

- The Cigar Babes - thanks. I'm glad you like them. They often "steal the show" around here.

I'm curious, if you remember, what were you searching for when you found the site on Google?

Once again, welcome and enjoy.

hey all

Jim Golden here, hailing from the northwestern front, Portland, OR.

New to "fine" cigars, smoked dime store cigarillos for years on warm summer nites w/ a good drink.

Current top 3: El Credito Internatinal #4 Maduro, Montesino Toro Maduro,
Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur 1066 Dark Night...

My brother is @ Annapolis "studying" and travels a bit and low and behold showed up a w/bottle of tasty rum from the islands and 3 Cubans for his older brother. Well, I don't know much about ciagrs, but the lame glossy wrapper around those Monte's didn't look so hot, but we lit up and somehow I knew they weren't cubans, but I indulged his fantasy.
Needless to say I was correct, but it was a wonderful gesture.

Anyhow, this got me down to our hometown cigar shop, Rich's, in business over 100years in downtown Portland, OR, great knowledgable staff. These guys got me started on the road to enjoying fine smokes.
This was about a month ago.

I puff about 3-4 times a week, ususally as it's getting dark, baby is in bed
and the wife and I hang outside in the yard. Luckily, my wife likes to have a puff here and there as well and doesn't mind the wonderful aroma.

Other interests include boardsports: skate/snow/surf, photography, my pop up camper+travelling, spending time w/ my family (wife, 8mo old daughter, shaggy advernture poodle and cat) and a little landscaping around the house.

Stumbled onto this site via google search, looks real good.
Also, in the looking real good dept, Matyu, damn, you're looking good!

anyhow, hope to contribute to reviews, etc, as there are a LOT of cigars for a newb to sample!

Welcome Jim! We're glad you're here and that you've decided to upgrade to premium handmade cigars. Be warned, once you've had the good stuff, it's impossible to go back.

I like the Montesinos and Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur s too.

Matyu is one of my favorite models too. She really knows how to "seduce the camera". We will be publishing another shoot of her in mid-September.

One of my favorite pics of Matyu is this one:

Newbie to the group here. My father-in-law turned me on to cigars in "retaliation" for me turing him onto wine! So now all o fmymad money goes to vino and smokes! Hey, life could be worse you know

I started smoking 'gars about 3 1/2 years ago but am now getting seriously into it, very addictive and not in the negative way either.

I been trying single stickes and experimenting with flavors, styles, wrappers, etc. So far R & J, CEO Gold, Rocky Patel Sun Grown Toro, La Gloria Cubana have rated high on my novice taste scale. I tend to lean to something with a bit more of a bite than my family, I guess that is why I also like big Cabs too!

I joined the forum just to get the "falvor" for the cigar world and start reading and elarning as much as I could in order to be able to become a smarter consumer when purchasing my smokes.
