Hello everyone my nickname is "Stogie" and I decided to build this site. I have been smoking for quit a few years now and I really felt I needed a place on the net of my own.

In my spare time I have built one other forum that has a nice size community, but since that forum is software related I was still missing something. That "something" was a place to talk to others about something I love which are cigars.

Here are a few questions I know you will ask so I will answer them now.

1. Stogie do you know there are lots of other online cigar forums?
Answer: Yes I know and that is fine. I like other forums but I wanted a place of my own.

2. What is dfferent about CigarLive?
Answer: It is not really much different but I do pride myself on running a clean forum with a crisp look to it.

3. As a member can I post stuff for sale? I do not see a section.
Answer: After we gain a substantial base of members I will open a section for that. I do not want people simply registering so that they can post stuff for sale and never contribute any useful info to the site.

4. Where can I find the forum rules?

Interesting you should mention that, as software is what I do for a living. (VB.NET, SQL, that kind of stuff) My cigar website is mostly focused on cigar events in Tampa Bay so there is not a lot of interaction over the Net, which I can live with as my time is usually very limited. Cigars and software, a winning combination!

There's another software guy here but one turned cigar shop owner. It's an interesting career path...

I agree. I actually am considering it too, when I retire. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Just greeting a few people I didn't greet when I joined the board... I thought it might be amusing to see a few of these Intruductions again after 4 months or so...
