Howdy Y'all
I'm new to this forum and I go by the handle of Capn Crusty, because I'm a sailor (but definitely not a yachtsman). I truly enjoy a good cigar in the cockpit along with a scotch or a rum and tonic while anchored at my favorite anchorage at the end of the day's sailing. I live in Austin, TX and generally sail on Lake Travis which is just barely big enough for some weekend cruising but the gulf coast is only a few hours away when I feel the need for salt water. Last October some friends and I competed in the Harvest Moon Regatta off the Texas coast and we gave up the DFL Trophy (Dead F***ing Last) and turned on the motor because we were running out of ice and cigars.

I generally go for the modestly priced sticks and some of my favorites are El Rey del Mundo, Joya de Nicaragua, Rocky Patel, Padron, and various other smokes with some body to them. I've found the Top25 DB to be a great asset in culling out the dog rockets and pointing me to some smokes that have become favorites.

Nice to have another sailer join CS. I sail a 23' Venture Newport cutter rigged boat in one of the puddles in Northern Colo. Nothing as nice as a big glass of scotch, a nice stogie and watchin' the sun set from the cockpit.
