Hello All,

My name is Chris Boor, and I am a combat medic for the 10th Mountain Division from Ft Polk, La. I am originally from the Denton county Tx area, and lived in the Little Elm/Frisco area, finally ending up in Krum right before I returned to the Military in 2004.

I am fond of a few cigars, most of the Ghurkas are fantastic, and very rich and smooth. I also like Romeo y Julieta No.2 or 3's, Acid Blondies are nice, and Partagas No. 4 taste great as well.

I have found it particularly difficult to get good smokes in Iraq, and am trying to figure out a way to get some better stogies. I have considered a humidor, but I dont know how much trouble getting one here and setting up would be. I could mail order smokes, but get nervous trying new cigars and wasting money if we don't like them. Would be great if we could get some good samplers here, but its not easy to do, considering shipping is not always done USPS, so we cannot get many offers.

Welcome to CL. On your situation, been there, done that! Had the same issues. CI is really good about sending to APO. Did a lot of business with them over the 15 months I was there. Cigar Bid was another that was always active in my favorites. Strongly recommend a humidor to fight the harsh environment. I had a 300 count sent to me and it was the key to survival. Samplers are the key to defining what you and the boys like. Stay active here and you'll find plenty of samplers will happen to show up.
