Its a good combo. If you have a local b&m, I would go there and start trying everything. Then buying bulk of what I liked. Be careful to not pay over retail at cbid!

Great place to get started. Make sure you compare the prices at Cigars International (the parent site of Cbid). Figure on about 60-70% of what they are on CI is a fair price.

Oh your gonna fit in good here I see that already. This was my first inexperience purchase. thought hey 25 cigars for $1.00 apiece what a deal.

All too true. There is quite a snowball effect when you're sliding down the slope. www.tampahumidor.com isn't a bad place to look either.

I would not try to buy the humidor / cigar sampler platter from the devil.

I would buy a humi that you want then stock it with some samplers that come with good references.

The El Grande humi is a good buy as long as you get it under $90.00. I paid $81.00 for one last year. Has a good seal and well constructed.

As far as samplers go, Cbid has quite a few different ones going and just watch what the average prices are going. Do a comparison of the bid price to the retail price at their retail website. I always keep their catalogs around to do easy lookups.

Going the mail order sampler route is OK as long as you know what you like. You can burn up a lot of money buying cigars you may hate. I suggest you patronize your Local B&M if you have one and try one or two. Read up on reviews here and at the T25 site to get an idea of cigars you might want to try. You will find someone here on the board that will have a similar taste profile to yours and that will help you in your searches.

Above all, have fun and don't get too biased before you try a line or brand. I have been guilty of that as well as most here. Remember, it's not what we like, it's what you like that counts.

That way, you can stash smokes everywhere!

Be carefull joking about Cremosa's. There was an episode, not too long ago, when a noob thought somebody was being serious about getting a deal on 50 of them.
