Hey from Long Island.....

What's up everyone!

I've been hanging around here for about a month now, gathering and absorbing information. I am really impressed at the volume and depth of information here on this forum, but what really impresses me is the relative courtesy and decorum present on this forum. Coming from other car audio forums, with some unruly behavior, seeing Puff.com is quite refreshing. But I guess that is a given, considering my other forum consists of primarily a younger crowd, compared with this more 'refined' and 'mature' crowd.

I digress....

Anyway, about me....I am 24 years old. I got introduced to cigars through my older cousins a year or two back. The idea intrigued me, and the aroma of the cigars drew me in. I always loved the aroma of cigars. I never gained interest prior, mostly since none of my friends really smoke cigars, nor have any interest. Now, the bug bit me.

My g/f of one and a half years is not fond of this habit, nor is she fond of her hair stinking like smoke when she is around me when I had one with her. And considering the fact that I still live at home, and my parents also aren't fond of this vice, I don't get many chances to indulge.

Fortunately, my brother has somewhat of an interest in cigars. He hasn't bought into all of the nuances that I have learned so far, but he has realized the importance of proper cigar storage, after smoking a dog rocket that was sitting in his glove compartment of his car for too long. So, I have a partner in crime, and him having his own humble abode does give me the infrequent opportunity to have a cigar, when he's not working on his house.

Currently, I have a small 15-20 cigar humidor. I have acquired several sticks. Namely, I have one H. Uppman, one un-named Dominican Rum Sweet, 5-pack of Punch 'Punch', 5-pack of Sancho Panza 'Caballero', and a 5-pack of ERDM 'rothschilde'. I'm currently letting these marinate in the humidor, but I've quickly realized that I have almost outgrown my current humidor, as I have to now store several in a double-bagged resealable package. So, I am right there with you guys, and am on the downward sloping.....slope.

I look forward to learning a lot about this interesting vice from everyone here, and I hope that I can sometime provide my own useful information from my personal experiences.

Cheers! And happy herfin'!

Re: Hey from Long Island.....

Haha, I get that comment frequently. Actually, it's just a name that I utilize on two other interest forums that I am part of.

You will laugh when you hear the car I drove. A Pontiac Sunbird. Amazing car, pickup was just sick. It did last long. My older brother passed it on to me, and it died at 202K miles. That was after routine maintenance by the book and a valve job at about 160K I think. Good little car.

It died when the transmission finally broke, due to me pretending it was a manual car.

That said, I don't miss it too much.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys...

I understand what you mean, I had a Chevy Vega (maybe I shouldn't admit to it) and when she died I ended up having a party.
