Yes and No. while it is true that as you smoke any cigar the tars from the burned tobacco build up in the cigar and naturally harshen the flavors. there are many cigars that have the ability to remain reasonably consistent and mild throughout the second 3rd or further.

Joe - thanks for the reply. I started purging my cigars every once in a while, more after the second half. This seems to have made things much more enjoyable for me, even at the end of fuller flavored cigars.
