My wife returned from her vacation up north with plenty of souvenirs and a little gift for me: five Montecristo White #3s. Now being a regular of the mass market machine mills, these were quite the treat, even if long time aficionados might otherwise scoff at this particular cigar. It was a much different smoking experience; in fact, it could actually be regarded as an "experience" rather than as something to do on the drive home. So I decided that this needed a bit more looking into.

I just received a sampler of 10 cigars in a small humidor (great $20 starter deal at cigar.com that I just so happened to find out about on these very forums, so thank you for that

) and am looking forward to trying them all over the next couple of weeks. I figure I'll be acquiring samplers regularly as well as seeking out recommendations from other people that seem to mesh with the more positive experiences that I discover in order to build my own personal repertoire of favorites upon which I can amass a respectable collection.

In the meantime, I look forward to illuminating and entertaining conversation, and please forgive the occasional profanity; I grew up in a poor neighborhood and spent my early working years in the Navy, so despite the social aspirations and career progression, I really am just the proverbial gorilla in a suit.
