Howdy Folks,

My name's Pete and I wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

I started working in a smoke shop in April, 1965, a month before my 11th birthday. We sold cigarettes for .48c a pack, Hoyo Robustos were still made with Cuban tobacco (from US warehouses) and brands like Royal Jamaica, Macanudo and Mario Palomino were made in Jamaica.

My brother and I bought a smoke shop in 1977, opened a second and found our way into importing fine handmade pipes by the early 1980s. By the late 1980s I was doing database and PC programming and I left the business in 1992.

Through the years I've continued to smoke, mainly cigars, to the consternation of my wife but my continual enjoyment. It's nice to have a forum to share opinions, swap stories and just be with people of a like mind and interest.
