Morning all - Was doing some research while planning some future purchases and came across this fine forum, though I'd give it a join and say h'lo to everyone.
I'm a bum, really... but I do a few things - I'm a wildland firefighter, blacksmith (hence the name), and run a small consultancy specializing in tactical/wilderness survival and medicine, self protection, personnel recovery and related fields, "solutions for austerity and hostility" in short. I'm also an avid adventurer, and spend time rock climbing, making my way to the top of mountains and exploring abandoned mines (caving, after a fashion... just as technical and demanding, when done safely, but a different experience) for fun and profit (a surprising amount of research, mainly biology and geology, goes on in old mines, but folks often need an experienced guide...).

Been smoking cigars since '05, and pipe since '07. Still mainly a cigar man... my staples are Sancho Panza and Padron, but I have fairly varied tastes and like variety.

I expect I'll spend a bit of time reading before I post much, but just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know who I am for when I do run my gob
