Ok, for the life of me, I can't figure out what Ring Gauge actually means...

If youre wondering how you got it up to 15 BUCA go to User Controls and scroll down and it will say about reputation received and have a comment there-this is who gave you yur most recent reputation boost (or deduction) and why. That affected you RG.

it was meant to be a "respect-meter" of sorts...
someone helps out the community with a post, provides insight, etc - give 'em a little RG.
if they're a disrespectful jackass that is causing trouble in the jungle and you lose a bit of respect for them by their actions - take a little RG.

most ppl never "take" RG even when they should, they don't want to be the bad guy. which is understandable, this place is so laid back and so many good people, there's not many chances to actually do that...

the longer you've been a member, and the more RG you already have, the more you can give/take.
you can take half (rounded down) of what you can give.
if you give 5, you can take 2.

don't get all worked up over RG, if you're active, you'll get it (unless you're a disrespectful jackass). then again, guys with tons more cigar knowledge than you and i combined who don't post often, they have very low RG because lots of ppl haven't been around here long (i've been here since '03 while others have been here since '97).

Exactly...guys who have forgotten more about cigars than I'll ever know have RG in double digits. So take it all with a grain of salt.
