Newb from Wisconsin
Greeting and Salutations,
I have been browsing the excellent information contained within this forum on and off for the past several months. I am now honored to be a member of the forum. I am originally from Stevens Point, WI. My first cigar was a vanilla Olivero smoked with a friend of many years while driving in my automobile listening to jazz. I enjoyed it greatly and quickly began to acquire a taste for quality leaf. My exploration has taking me across the board of cigars and pipe tobacco blends; a progression that remains infinitely satisfying. This progression has included going from flavored cigars in plastic ziploc bags, to traveldors, to desk top humidors and now to a fleet of coolerdors filled with favorites (Rocky Patel, Indian Tobac, and other goodies). To sum up, I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cigars! A recent trip overseas to Thailand gave me the opportunity to sample some cigars that are out of reach in the US. The trip reinculcated in me the good nature of enjoyers of the leaf. I believe good cigars go beyond economic class and social status. I find that some of the best discussions have occurred with fellow aficionados in the confines of good cigar shops. I am please to report this seems to be a global trend! I look forward to adding to discussions, making new friends and expanding my knowledge of cigars! Sincerely, Tristan |

Re: Newb from Wisconsin
Greetings from one Wisconsin-ite to another (I'm not a big fan of "Cheesehead"...since I don't really eat cheese.)
I think Axle Rose said it best... "Welcome to the jungle We got fun 'n' games We got everything you want Or we know the names We are the people that can find Whatever you may need If you got the money honey We got your disease" Enjoy your stay!! |

Re: Newb from Wisconsin
Thanks! Have you heard of the cigar event in Wild Rose, WI this Saturday, July 15th? It's at Pioneer Pub in Wild Rose; put on by smoker's edge in coloma; there isn't a door charge and it starts at 2pm. I'm really excited because I never hear of any cigar events nearby in WI.
