[SIZE="3"]Hi there gents. My name's Paddy and I'm probably across the pond from most of you fellows in the US, as I'm from that little aircraft carrier (UK) off the coast of mainland Europe!

I don't pretend to know much about cigars, and frankly that's why I'm here to initially look and listen from my armchair and hopefully be guided wisely and learn. I've had a few Cuban cigars at a friend's house, but couldn't tell you what they were. But enjoyed them enough to want to know more.

I have never been a cigarette smoker and really wouldn't want to be. But there's something about a cigar, it's aroma, it's feel, it's masculinity that has me in its grasp.

I enjoy my wine, my whiskey (a Black Bush man) and love the ritual of grinding my own coffee beans for a great cup of coffee. Maybe it was only a matter of time before I drifted towards that cigars.

I'm originally from Northern Ireland. A former army officer and then a journalist. Live in the wilds of the Scottish Borders with my two mini Schnauzer dogs. Often seen sporting a vintage fedora on my noggin as I trudge across the moors with the dogs in my green wellies!

Some of you veterans here will be tired, I'm sure, of newbies needing to be mothered and hand-held, and sadly I am no exception as I hold my hand to my heart guys and say, "I haven't got a clue. But, I'm a good learner!"

It will be a pleasure to get to know some of you cigar aficianados as time goes on. Thank you for having me in your little lounge here!
