Man, Beast, you are a genius! I wish I would have been that smart when I was in college and worked at a cigar shop!

Absolutely the best college job I ever heard of! Good for you!

Hello Unibrow welcom to the jungle. I would try Flor De Oliva Bundles.

About 26 bucks a Bundle of 25 at Rockyscigars.com. I think MDcigars.com has the FdO in singles. The Padron line is always a great choice. Please try as many cigars as you can. There is no substitue for experienceing different cigars and finding what you like.

Re: new smoker

for cheap smokes that are kick ass, try the
consuegra #9 in maduro wrapper. they're a punch or hoyo de monterrey rothchilds second. you can nab them at a few places online for under $25 for 25.

and my personal favorite non-cuban cigar = Trilogy Authentic Corojo. you can find them online at some places for $42 for a box of 20.

when i first started, i really liked a cigar that a lot of experienced guys despise, but i enjoyed them. and that was a Helix. cheap, mild with a little spice and nice aroma. also, i liked Astrals, they were mild as well.

i came from smoking pipes, not cigarettes, so the milder tobacco flavor suited me better.

of course, that's in the past...

Re: new smoker

Welcome! I have found that La Gloria Cubana (LGC) Serie R #4 or #5 are very good in maduro. A little more pricey, but worth it when you want to have a smoke to celebrate the weekend!

You will find the cigar store site magazines very interesting....Thompsons puts out a great catalog that will have you salivating, and although many on this site seem to scoff at Thompsons, I have had good experience from them (ordered a humi, 100 sticks, and a traveler 'dor from them....all in good shape and work well).

Enjoy!

Re: new smoker

Welcome! For affordable smokes that still kick ass I'd recomend El Rey del Mundos, La Gloria Cubanas, and Consuegras. Also, you can get some great deals online.

Re: new smoker

Since I posted this, I've tried a Padron Delicias, a La Aroma de Cuba robusto, and I bought a Flor de Oliva bundle. I've smoked a few of the Flors, and they've all had burning problems, but I think it was mainly because they were too dry. I've got them in a humidor now. That 9 cigar deal I bought still hasn't come in. I've got a lot going on right now, plus the weather sucks, so I haven't smoked as much as I want to. But tomorrow I should have a chance to. I'll probably try something new. Wednesday will be great because I don't have class until 3, and I'll be working on a project, so I can just take the work to the cigar shop and smoke 2 or 3 while I work on it! That will be fun! And the gal that works there most days is really cute, so that makes it even better!
