Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

I never really thought I mumbled, but apparently I started to in college. My friends started calling my mumbles as a nickname, which was then lengthened to "Captain Mumbles". I eventually started using it as a screen name, and wrote it as mmblz both to convey the mumbling and also as an added bonus, it had two m's in it for my M, and a z, which is what my roadster would be called if it were not an M.

Has to do with my education. Indiana University School of law-Indianapolis (iuindy) 2L = 2nd year law student. I have since graduated some time ago, but have kept using the ID.

An Audi TT is what i thought as well.

Since I have never talked much on here, this is where my name came from:
A long time ago, when I first got into "the internet", I had a "cyberstalker", so I created another username hoping I would be left alone.
Why the name Spongy? Although it is spelled differently than a reggae song I love (Sponji Reggae, by Black Uhuru), it sounds the same and some cigars have a "spongy" feel to them.

It's not very interesting compared to most of the others, but I love Gurkha cigars. Can't afford them, buy them anyway, don't think about the price when I'm smoking one. .

It appeared as if they had only moments before picked up and left, with the only clue as to their disapearance being the word "croatan" (or "croatoan" depending on the account) etched in a tree.
I'm married to Croatan (some would say that our getting married could possibly be the new world's second mystery) and am female, hence the -ita.

I read this thread in its entirety, but didn't see a post from Cigar No Baka. I'm really curious as to what his name means ???

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

Back in 1997 while serving on active duty in the Navy, I was one of the chosen few that year to be selected for the grand ol' grade of Chief Petty Officer. Once selected to this grade, which happens in July, the fun begins and you get to go through a 2 month initiation process that culminates on the 16th of September...the last night being the most intense and fun for those doing the initiating. Part of the process is that the person sponsoring you gets to pick your costume for the ceremony of the evening. My costume was that of the Court's Jester. I wrangled the nic around a little bit and added my resident state and there you have it.......JezterVA.

I separated from the Navy 4 years later and just kept the title. Once a Chief always a Chief. I wouldn't trade those days for nuthin'. Go Navy!!

I restore Triumph Spitfires/TR6/s and Chevy Covairs. An unlikely combination but still fun none the less.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

Well, I remember watching an episode of Sports Center one morning and they referred to Dennis Rodman as "Rodzilla." My first name is Todd, and I thought it sounded cool, and it even rhymed with "ToddziLLa," so now it is sort of a nickname and it is also one of two names I use when I game online.
