Whats the story behind everyones member name?

Stop me if this question has been answered in another thread, I searched but couldn't find it and I think it might me fun.

What is the story or explanation for everyones member name? I've seen pretty interesting ones and always wondered what is behind them. Some of them are pretty obvious like Seagarsmoker, but how about Glovepuppy?

Mine is pretty boring, although I've been using it for five years. It was my login name given to me the first day of college for the computer access. They just put the first six letters of you last name followed by your first and middle initial.
summerkc= Kevin C. Summers. I've used it ever since on everything on the internet so if you find something else around the internet with summerkc on it, you know it is me. I figure that if I use a differnt one I'll just forget it.

Everyone wake up now, the history lesson is over.

They called my Grandpa NeWcS(NUKES) and my Dad is the spitting image(not looks but mennerisom) and In high school and still today all my friends call me NUKE. So I just always go by the handle NeWcS and my younger brother goes by NeWcS_jr. So its kinda a fam thing.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

I wanted f1 fan on my license plate but it was taken, so I just put a 1 in front of it....1f1fan. I figured it would make a good handle also. So if you see a silver Honda with VA plates with 1f1fan throw some ISOMS my way.

I also go by walnuts on my gun board. My name is Paul; my friends call me Paulie....if you watch the Sopranos you can figure out the rest...

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

My handle is from a nickname a certain female from my past called me. I used it when i first signed up on Ebay 'cause it was the only one i found close enough to my name without having a number or a __ in it. I've found that no-one else has used it, except for the pogo game site. I had to go with glovepuppy2 there.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

The Wetterhorn is a mountain in Colorado. It is 14,015 feet above sea level and is a very impressive mountain. Here is a link to a photo of it! http://home.att.net/~statcy.bender/p...n_SE_Ridge.jpg

It is located in the San Juan range of Colorado, and though I never climbed it, I did climb Uncompahgre, the 14,309 foot neighbor of Wetterhorn. Here is link to a pic of Uncompahgre: http://home.att.net/~stanley.bender/...ncompahgre.jpg

Uncompahgre is my all time favorite climb and mountain, but I like the name Wetterhorn better. A few years ago I had a blog, The View from the Wetterhorn, meaning from the summit of a high mountain, but people came to think I was the Wetterhorn so I just kind of kept the moniker.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

when first getting on the WWW waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, I was asked for a log-on name. After some thought, I figured since I enjoy playing poker so much, that 'poker' would do for now. Many years later, not much has changed.

In so Calif, the (909) area code is referred to as living in "the dirt" or as being a central point for white trash, gangs, meth labs, meth users and all sorts of bad things. People living in Orange and LA county feel that Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are where the most of the degenerates live. Although I and 99% of the people that actually live in the (909) don't fit into any of the categories above, I picked (909) because I like where I live and wanted to show it.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

In the past on other sites attempted any number of catchy handles and damned if they wern't always taken so I reverted to my name and initial, so unimaginative that no one else would use them. Frank B

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

I live in Kansas & my last name is Hatfield & no, the Hatfields weren't from Arkansas. They lived in West Va. close to the Tug River.

The cat road in my location is a slang term from the early 1930's when bank robbers were roaming the Midwest. They said that you had to have the eyesight of a cat to drive the unpaved back roads at night with no lights on, hence, they called them "cat roads." I live on a cat road.

Re: Whats the story behind everyones member name?

When i played football in college in the early 80's some of the guys started calling me "The Hammer", a nickname that has stuck with me through my football days ever since and is even tattooed a couple places. I'm 6'7" 297 lbs, then 270, and i moved very quickly to "hammer" the QB's. Motorhead, the rock group, had a song called "The Hammer" which is where it came from. As time went on, at 38, i started two hobbies, in addition to weight training and golf, with all my free time...PC gaming and cigars. Role-Playing games required a "character" so to keep in the spirit i became "Lord Hammer". So now any game forum i should frequent, or club stogie, i am Lord Hammer .
