Copy of "Welcome" email that goes out to all new members.

Hi All,

Club Stogie started sending the following welcome email to all new users starting today. I thought I would post a copy here, as others may find some of the info useful.

----------------

Welcome to Club Stogie!

As the founder of the site I would like to personally thank you for registering and I hope you find the site as interesting and as informative as I do. Please take a moment to read the information below and it will greatly increase your understanding of how the site works and what it has to offer you.

The premise of the Club Stogie Cigar Community website is that we can, working together, build an online community that will help all of us pursue information about our hobby. You can share information, retrieve information and even request it from others that share the same interests as your self.

Club Stogie was created with the goal of providing an online cigar community that does not fall prey to the elitist attitude common among many similar sites. Currently there is no cost to participate in Club Stogie. Any monies received from the site are returned to operating expenses and expansion dollars.

If you do nothing else right now then please see the top 5 things to do once you log in, it will get you started in a hurry!

Welcome to the jungle,

pds

Three simple rules of Club Stogie.

With the desire of making your experience at Club Stogie an enjoyable one, there are three simple rules that can help new members in the forums.

1) DO NOT ask how to buy Cubans in the United States. Cuban cigars are illegal in the U.S. We suggest reading through the forums for more information, or you can check out the following link from the United States Customs Department.

http://www.customs.gov/xp/cgov/trav...uban_cigars.xml

Along these same lines, please don't ask which retailers ship to the US, how they perform, etc., again, Cuban cigars are illegal in the U.S. We do delete posts related to these subjects. If you happen to live in a country where Cubans are legal...you have many envious friends!

2) DO feel free to use the search function. There are a ton of questions already asked and answered. You may be able to save yourself some time by searching for the answer before asking it. At the same time, don't feel bad if you ask a question that has been asked before...it happens!

3) DO enjoy yourself and be respectful of others. We are all here because we enjoy cigars.

Of course, always remember...

CLUB STOGIE STRICTLY ADHERES TO THE 1997 "NO CIGAR SNOB" TREATISE DEVELOPED BY TOP 25 CIGAR.

(AKA...If you can taste hints of burnt 7-year old Madagascar Vanilla...smoke elsewhere!

Top Five things to do before you start!

1. Update your profile.

2. Select an Avatar, this gives your account personality. You can always upload your own as well.

3. Do a Search in the forums! This will help you get started in posting by finding threads that are of interest to you.

4. Post in the “New Gorilla” forum. A couple sentences about you go a long way to making Club Stogie feel like home.

5. Familiarize yourself with the jungle hierarchy. You are now a “Newbie in the Jungle”! Not the nicest of terms, but it only takes 10 posts to progress to the next level. For a complete list of titles visit this page-

--------------------

Quick things you should know about membership.

1. You can make Rank! Each time you post in the forums or photo gallery you increase your “Post” count on the site. As your count gets higher so does your title and privileges.

2. Your Ring Gauge! You can add to another user’s Ring Gauge by commenting on the quality of their posts in the forums and elsewhere. Others can also do the same for you. Your reputation also influences the areas of the site you are allowed into, and more.
