Hi Tim - Also from Portland, and also new here.... Any gatherings or good shops you know of? I frequent Cascade Cigar and Timber Valley Tobacco. I also find Rich's downtown to be too expensive, stuffy, and not very helpful - plus their cigars are not "on display".

Wow...thanks all so far! General - Cascade is my local place especially to hang out in the lounge area, but 82nd St. Cigar & Tobacco is my new fave. Had a R&J event there 2nite, met Don Pepin a few weeks ago, the staff is great and very interested in cigars, and theyve got a killer patio.

Ah yes the Brass, I smoked a 5 Vegas A there last Friday... one of the last cigar friendlies around. Portland goes non-smoking Jan 1 2009.

I thought the cigar bars were safe? I have not read the fine print of the legislation yet. If it they are not off to the patios!

Yes, I did read cigar bars were excluded (surprise there anyways) but i heard second hand no liquor could be served on the premises. Which is ok, but I might rather head back home in that case.
