history of "gorilla" theme?

I looked around for an answer to this but didn't find one. And of course searching for "gorilla" isn't exactly helpful...

Anyhow, just wondering the history / origin of the whole gorilla theme here at CS.
Feel free to just point to another thread if there is one already...

“Lowland Gorilla” was a term that was used as a sarcastic answer to a question. The question was raised a long time ago to Paul about what the requirements to be a staff reviewer for Top 25 Cigar were. To make his point, Paul said “Absolutely nothing. You could be a lowland gorilla and review cigars for us. There are no special requirements whatsoever.” RJS, a Club Stogie charter member, used it to characterize the small group of users on Club Stogie at the time. Club Stogie began to be known as the home of the lowland gorillas. As the Club Stogie members began to get lazy with the rest of the American populous, the term lowland gorilla was given the acronym “LLG.” Being creatures of habit, the term lowland gorilla stuck & the rest is history. adding "lowland" to my search narrowed it to 15 threads instead of 266
i suggest making one of these three threads sticky, and adding this to the FAQ, simply because it was a bit difficult to find...
