Anyhow, just wondering the history / origin of the whole gorilla theme here at CS.
Feel free to just point to another thread if there is one already...

Re: history of "gorilla" theme?

Quote:
“Lowland Gorilla” was a term that was used as a sarcastic answer to a question. The question was raised a long time ago to Paul about what the requirements to be a staff reviewer for Top 25 Cigar were. To make his point, Paul said “Absolutely nothing. You could be a lowland gorilla and review cigars for us. There are no special requirements whatsoever.” RJS, a Club Stogie charter member, used it to characterize the small group of users on Club Stogie at the time. Club Stogie began to be known as the home of the lowland gorillas. As the Club Stogie members began to get lazy with the rest of the American populous, the term lowland gorilla was given the acronym “LLG.” Being creatures of habit, the term lowland gorilla stuck & the rest is history. You got a banana?
From here.

Look around some while you're there.

Yes grasshopper, it is fine to seek wisdom, but wisdom is gained in the seeking as well as the knowing. Here' a place for you to seek your answers first hand in the way back machine. Just go back in time to "clubstogie.com" at

actually, I think there was a thread in these archives where this was discussed, but I forgot to bookmark it. If you find it, why not post the bookmark here for us. This question comes up all the time. I'll see if I bookmarked it at work.

Good page - should be linked from the Club Stogie FAQ page...

I actually went to see the Gorillas at the Lincoln Park Zoo today, I love watching them.
Based on how new I am here, I'm about like Suzi, the newborn at the zoo:

finally found these:
http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthr...owland+gorilla
http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthr...owland+gorilla

adding "lowland" to my search narrowed it to 15 threads instead of 266
i suggest making one of these three threads sticky, and adding this to the FAQ, simply because it was a bit difficult to find...
