Drew Estate's Liga Privada No.9 Review

After 7 hours of settling time. I pulled one of these beauties from the box. I just could not wait.

The Wrapper is a dark oily brown with a little tooth.

The Construction is top notch.

The Draw and Burn are very good. Tons of smoke, with a even burn. The ash is firm and a gray white in color.

I clip this beautiful looking cigar and toast it very well. I set fire to it and take my first puffs. Damn thing starts out strong and spicy with pepper on the tongue. The aroma is very interesting. It's a mix of spice and wood with hints of a ripe sweetness.

The first inch is strong. The kind of strong that you feel at the pit of your stomach. After about a inch, it settles down to a med bodied cigar with lots of flavors. Rich spice and leather start to make them self's known. You have hints of burned wood here and there. At the halfway point it gets just a little stronger. It still rich and spicy and I'm finally able to put my finger on a strange but good flavor that keeps rearing up. It a fermented spicy ripe smokey wine flavor. Mixed with the others flavors is very nice. Past the halfway and heading toward the 3/4 mark. Hints of wood and roasted nut are now mixing in with spice and ripe smoke wine flavors. This is a very tasty rich cigar. I hope they have a large supply of these well aged tobaccos. This cigar in not over powering but has enough power to satisfy you and go along with a plethora of flavors. The final quarter is smooth and spicy. This cigar has kept my interest from start to finish. Drew Estates and Steve Saka have done a great job with this cigars. My hats off to them.

This cigar is a Yummmmmmmy Baby!! If you can find them, buy them.

Can't wait to smoke one that has really settled. Maybe tomorrow.

Yummmmmies Baby

I believe that they will hit the stores next week. Very limited release. Only a few stores will have them.

It's just a cigar tease. Tonight I will spark up another one. Just to make sure they are as Yummmmmmy as the first.

Re: Drew Estate's Liga Privada No.9

They were introduced at a special event at Two Guys...Steve Saka and Two Guys go back a long time....way before he got into the cigar business with JR...Sadly, I didn't get to Salem to buy some, but my local store has been promised a few boxes and I have mine reserved. I was lucky enough to smoke a few samples pre-release, and agree that it's a winning blend.

Come to think of it that would be the third time I have seen a picture of it. Frank S (mowee) got one at last year's RTDA and had pictures up on CW.

You and your damn Yummmmmies!
