Altbiers review of Consuegra #18 mad

Ok, diggin through my humidor I found this really dark oily looking cigar and decided to give it a try.

Appearance- Dark, little to no veins, and an ioly look. The band is rather funny- States: Imported/Havana/Conseugra/seed/long filler/natural leaf binder. So with a quick glance you only read Imported Havana Consuegra.
Touch- wrapper has almost a velvety touch to it, slight oily feeling. It is a heavy cigar and little to no sponginess, very tightly rolled
Light- Cigar took a bit to light. I think it may be a little wet.
Smoke- Little to no smoke, which i guess means its not really wet
Draw- draw is tuff.
Taste- Kind of has the leathery taste, but other than that it is very mild, no other flavors.
Burn- It is a very slow burner with a very white ash. My cheeks are starting to hurt trying to draw off this cigar. Did your mother every try and make you blow the yoke out of an egg so you can decorate it for Easter? (try this if you have never done it, puch a little hole on each end of an egg, then blow into one end until all the yoke comes out the other; takes good lungs) This cigar is like that in reverse. My lungs cant seem to get smoke through the cigar.
Other than that, it has a nice flavor. Maybe you need a poker nearby(which I dont own) to make this work.
They are about $1 each in a bundle. Probably a good cigar to give to friends that let cigars burn out before smoking them.

Cheers!

Nice review. These are good bang for your buck cigars. Great chore stogies.

I've heard the #9's and #72/#73's are good, and the rest should be stayed away from, but to date I have yet to have one. I really need to buy a bundle but stuff keeps coming up and I keep forgetting.

Nice review altbier, these were one of my first sticks I bought at JR's years ago, as with Frank, I bought bundles of the Mad # 9 and enjoyed them. 72's were good too. Like you said, great $ 1.00 cigar to pass out or do yard work. Let the # 9 's rest, because all the ones that I bought were wet.
