Newbie Samples 5 Vegas Gold from Tiptone

Hi everyone,

Yesterday a friend and I were able to get away from work for a bit to enjoy a couple of cigars. We decided to go with something mild; I chose a 5 Vegas Gold generously gifted from Tiptone. I hoped for a good experience as this cigar sat in my humidor since receiving it last December.

APPEARANCE
This cigar was quite a light brown in color.. much different than most of the maduros that sat in beside it in the humidor. Only the Montecristo White held a lighter shade.

CONSTRUCTION
The rolling itself looked good with all seams welded together nicely. There were a few places that were not as firm as others but I did not have any issues while smoking.

FLAVOR
From a cold drawl, all I could sense was a mild tobacco flavor. I could tell this was going to be a mild cigar. Unfortunately, I think my newbie palette is not developed enough to detect anything on a mild cigar.

VALUE
A gift from a fellow guerrilla has the greatest value of all

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
For the near future, I think I will stick to stronger cigars. Towards the end, I let the cigar die out a bit early as I just wasn't getting much from it. Perhaps I was expecting too much? I knew it was going to be mild.. perhaps I was just too naive to appreciate its finer points.

Thanks once again, Tiptone!

How was hit hardness wise? Did it burn in the back of the throat at all?

Thanks for the review. I enjoy the 5 vegas Gold when Im looking to for a smoke that doesn't require a lot of my attention, like when doing yard work or something.

Never really felt or tasted anything at all. Allergy meds working against me, maybe?

My overall experience with this smoke was good, only gripe was last 1/3 kinda started getting a lemon zest / chemical taste which sucked at the end. But overall was a good mild smoke.

I enjoy one of these myself while doing around the house work, mild but good if you let them sit for a little.

It wasnt the meds, they have very little flavor imo. For something that mild, I go with a Mac or Montesino.
