Don Carlos No. 4 Review

Purchased a couple of these a few weeks ago online and decided to smoke one last night.

Very nice appearance and construction on this one. After the cut I took an initial draw and noticed it to be a little bit tight, but still good.

After light up and about 1/2" of smoking I started thinking after every draw that this reminded me of cherries with a slight wood flavor. It was very smooth and lasted for the first few inches and then....it went out. So I light again about three more times and got frustrated and tossed it. After the first relight it started to get harsh and unpleasant and continued to get worse.

Don't know if its me or the cigar was to young, but I was not very impressed. I still have another that I will let rest that will hopefully take care of the harshness. I have not ruled these out and will most likely try another size but this just wasn't the great cigar I was expecting.

Sounds like a possible humidification problem; on-line cigars often come in the mail way to wet........Usually, the burn on these are pretty good.......they're a bit mild for my taste, but I still have a few laying around............they're usually consistent and full of flavor.

I would give the second one a nap and see what happens; try to smoke it between 65-70% Rh.

I've had similar experiences. The #3's are much better.

Re: Don Carlos No. 4

I feel they are a little mild as well. Try to keep them around 65% for smoking or just pull ut of humi for a few hours and let sit a little while.

Tahnks for review.
