Habanos Puros new blend torps Review

Uncle Mikey has been selling Habanos Puros for some time, but they recently changed the banding and blend (from what I'm told). I picked up one torp of a number of the different wrappers that he has: Cameroon, Natural, Ecuador Shade, Sumatra, Sun Grown, H-2000. Tonight was Cameroon's turn.

I will preface by saying that I am a big fan of the old blend Rosada that he is selling out for 15 bucks a bundle. A buck thirty three for a nice cigar ... are you kidding me? But the new blends also have bands indicating the wrapper on them, so I wanted to try them out.

This is a nice looking torp, $35.95 for a bundle of 20. I snipped the cap and went outside while the rigitoni was cooking in the oven. The construction is nice, perfect draw, the burn likewise until half way down when I used some spit to even it out. Medium gray ash.

The Cameroon character came through, the smoke was medium strength but very tasty. If you like Cameroons and want an inexpensive cigar I recommend these highly. I'll smoke one of each of the others the rest of the week and post my impressions here as well.

Thanks Sean. I was just about to ask the gorillas of thier opinion on a good cheap bundle. It sounds nice, i love the cameroon and the price sounds right.

Sean, you provide a great service. Good low cost smoke recommendations are appreciated by all. I bought a bundle of the old blend rosada's for $15. Great smoke. Looks like will be adding to my bundle collection.

Had the Habanos Puros H-2000 torp tonight. One word review: WOW.

My goal was to stain the front porch, but I had 3" left when it was done and I didn't want to toss this cigar it was so rich and flavorful. So I went out to the back and painted until it got dark. What a fantastic cigar, no hyperbolie (sp??), the best 2 dollar smoke I ever had. It tunneled a bit with an inch left but I wouldn't put it down, I burned off the wrapper and nubbed this sucker. When was the last time I nubbed a 2 dollar smoke? Never. Multiple bundle purchase for sure.

I thought the Cameroon wrapper was good, but this one was simply outstanding....never had to purge yet it remained rich and full of flavor all the way down. Last 2 inches were especially good. I hope the other wrappers are this good.

The Habanos Puros H-2000 is listed as Maduro on Mike's site. I don't like Maduros .. but this cigar rocked. Whats up with that? I knew the wrapper was darker than the others, but wasn't black like a lot of maduros that I've seen.

Had the sungrown last night. Good cigar, but I prefer the other two.

Had the Sumatra tonight, not a fan, too mild for my taste ... so far I rank the Maduro (H-2000)>Cameroon>Sungrown>Sumatra. I still have the natural and Ecuador to go.
