Lancero/Panatela Mini-Review #13 - Hirsh y Garcia Panatela

Mini Review - Hirsh y Garcia Panatela (7 x 42)
Nicaraguan puro with a Corojo wrapper
5 for $29.95 at CigarKing.com

This cigar is a collaboration between Mitchel Hirsh, owner of Cigar King, and Pepin Garcia. I have had two so far and this mini review will be about both. They are good looking Panatelas, had good draws and produced plenty of smoke. Both burned great for the first 2/3 then became hard to keep lit. Both were medium bodied.

The first one I smoked had a few weeks in the humi and was an exceptionally nice smoke. Its flavor was creamy, nutty and a little spicy. The second had about four months rest and had more of a sharp, rather than creamy flavor, starting with a slight metallic note and becoming more spicy bordering on harsh.

I have a few more so will definitely give it another try since I liked the first one so much. Hopefully this last one is not typical.

Smoked a HyG Panatela late last night and it was very good. Have given a few away and still working on the top row of a box.

I'm glad to hear that John. Based on my experience with other HyG's, both Coronas and Panatelas, I had expected this one to be in the running for my favorite in this test, right up there with the Tat, Padillas and Oliva V. Must have been a rare bad one but that happens sometimes.
