Sancho Panza Review
Newbie ignorance flair-up. I am not sure what the exact Sancho Panza was I smoked, so I will give all that was on the band, and maybe it will make sense to the more informed! (this flair-up is the direct result of the female race - story to follow the review)
Sancho Panza, Honduras, Hecho Mano, Gran Fabrica de Tabacos; square pressed, natural wrapper, say about 5", and maybe a 46 ring gauge (hard to judge due to square shape). Strong flavor, a little harsh on first light (realize I'm a medium body preference smoker). Mellowed out after first 1/3, but was still flavor packed. Last 1/3 was a butt kicker, did not feel any effects in first half, last half had me spinning some. Despite full body of taste, cigar had a light, sweet and peppery?? aroma. Aftertaste of smoking was probably what I'd consider peppery also. While I'm not a full body smoker, I was impressed with the amount of flavor the cigar possessed. Good ash retention. I had to make a stop at a retailer (second rate tobacco shop that ocassionally has some good cigars at great prices due to local populace ignorance level - struck out this time). Left cigar burning in bed of truck, spent good 5 minutes or more inside. It was still lit and burning well when I got back. I've had better cigars that wouldn't stay lit half that time without draws. Overall, I would give the cigar a 3, maybe a 3.5. A full body smoker would maybe give 3.5 to maybe 4. OK, the reason my ignorance is a female's fault: My usual cigar expert that keeps me straight and helps me with my understanding of names, sizes, tobaccos, makers, ect... is Ninja Vanish. Ninja is still very much un-attached, in his prime youth days, in college, and thus susceptible to the charms of similarily fated females. And, he happens to be out of state at the present pursuing one such speciman (speciwoman?). I thought about prohibiting this pursuit in the event I needed his help in avoiding a "Newbie Ignorance Flair-up", but..... wouldn't have worked anyway. Thinking back to my un-attached days of youth, I'm sure I would not have stayed around to keep my dad's honor intact when the game was afoot, and the hounds waiting for the chase. Feel free to step in and identify the cigar for me. I figure I will eventually learn the proper identifiers and lose some of my ignorance (or at least get better at hiding it). |

Re: Sancho Panza
My best guess would be Sanch Panza Valiente, though the Glorioso is a possibility (they only differ by about 1/2/"). Both are hightly underrated! For medium body, I definitely recommend.

OT: I went to highschool with a girl actually named Ninja. Got to wonder what her parents were thinking abouth though... I mean it turned out to be quite a fitting name considering she was 5,5 - 5,6, slender with jet black hair. Imagine if she'd turned out the short, chubby librerian type... ![]() |
