I just picked one of these bad boys at my local shop. He told me they were smoking out of this world and I have to say he was point on. To go along with my tat I paired it with a glass of glen 18. The draw was smooth as ice and the smoke was thick. I have had tats in the past and I always had problems with burnouts or constantly having to do touch ups. This puppy was pure bliss form start to finish. The taste was spicy and just dam good. I am defiantly running out and grabbing more. The Glen was not half bad, ethier.

These are one of my favorite tats, my top ones are the blacks, RC, and the reservas.

Re: Tatuaje Miami Coj 2006
These are damned tasty when you get a good one, but I've bought a few that have had plugging issues, and nothing ticks me off like a $12 dollar-plus cigar that burns wildly.

Re: Tatuaje Miami Coj 2006
I bought a box of these a year ago and split them into 5's here on CS.
Still have a couple left that are sleeping undisturbed. They are tasty mofo's |

Great cigars. Another Don Pepin.
I truly like all brown bands, and also the west cost and east cost blends with the red bands. What I really like to get is the Black bands. Not released yet, but Pet said something about them hitting the market. |

Re: Tatuaje Miami Coj 2006
I agree about the plug issue. I purchased my first Tats, a white and a brown label (cabinet) and was dying to try one. I fired up the white and it was so tight I could barely draw. Ran my "draw improver" through it and I could hear it punching through what sounded like solid chunks of tobacco. Anyway the draw tool split the wrapper to sh1t.
What little I smoked of it was tasty though. Hopefully the Cabinet will smoke better.

Haven't tried the Cojonu's yet. Love the J21 and most all of the other tats.

These and the 2003 are my favorite Tat's. I want to try a black one, but will have to wait for next year.

Re: Tatuaje Miami Coj 2006
Bump: smoked one of these last night--been in the humi at least a year, probably longer. It's been resting with a bunch of other brown-label and RC Tats.
Disclaimer: I rarely smoke NCs anymore. This was an intentional walk on the NC side, to check things out. My prior experiences smoking Tats were by and large great, although I always had the sense that the often harsh tannic qualities of young Tats would even out with some age. I found them full-bodied, but not as complex as PAN/PAM or even Opus. Thoughts: first puffs were great--a freight-train of leather, tobacco, and charred wood. Very little in the middle of the flavor profile, save for that tannic quality mentioned above, yet this was muted as I had thought it might be after some time resting in the humi. Continuing on to the half-way mark, I notice that I'm not picking up anything other than the initial spice smack that comes at the leading edge of each puff. Just spice and no body, nothing to really taste in the bulk of the smoke. Imagine sitting down with a nice big piece of chocolate cake, slicing off a huge chunk with your fork, only to realize as you put it in your mouth that you're only getting icing. Well, icing by itself is great, but I want the cake, too. I expect the cake from a stick that costs more than a lot of CCs out there! I stuck with this cigar until the last 1/3, then chucked it. Level-setting my expectations before I smoke another one of these--or any NC. I sure hope all the Padrons and Opus I've been holding on to for years now don't disappoint as much as this stick. |
