Jericho by Camacho 5x50 Robusto Review

Nothing really outstanding about this cigar. Nice appearance, dark brown slightly toothy wrapper, all in all a well constructed Robusto. Some issues with uneven burn early, but could well have been the result of the the reviewer using a new torch for only the second time and not getting a good initial light. The draw was a little on the light side but not objectionable.

I guess the primary thing I found fault with was the flavor or lack thereof. Very mild throughout the smoke, I was able to detect some spice and cedar notes, more so in the later half of the smoke. Like most sticks that I find to lacking in flavor, I'm hoping a few months in the humi might bring out some additional taste, but I always have that hope with cigars I find fault with in the flavor department. I wonder if that's why my humidor seems to be getting smaller and smaller? This is not a bad cigar, and being fairly mild might be a good choice for someone just beginning to smoke handmades, but I definitely would not pay the 4.00 retail price.

Give 'em a try if you like, they're not bad cigars, but don't expect to find that 92 in the haystack. Bought at auction for I believe around 1.50

Thanks for the review, I've been eyeing these up. I presumed that since they were made by Camacho now they would have some kick to them, sounds like that's not the case.

I must confess I wrote the review after having smoked only 2 of the cigars, which is probably not enough to get a real gauge on all its characteristics. Dispite my joking around about believing all any cigar needs is a little more aging, I'm actually hopeful in this case that it will be true. I can't put my finger on the exact taste or what component of the cigar was producing it, but I got a taste that resembled freshing havested hay, so I'm fairly confident these cigars were fairly "fresh."

As for the strenght, I suppose that can be relative with each smoker having their own standard as well as other factors such as the time day it was smoked etc. So don't let my perception of strength carry all that much weight. I didn't mean to imply this was a bad smoke, as it's not, and is worth giving them a try if you can pick up a fiver at a bargain. They've made by a reputable company and after 6 months in the humi, my opinion of them will hopefully improve.
