Camacho SLR Maduro Torpedo Review

My local shop here knows I like the Camacho Line and when I was there Friday they came through with a real winner. They just received the new sizes of the Camacho SLR Maduro line and I picked up a Torpedo ($6 or so).

This smoke was beautiful with a near black wrapper and the cut was clean. The prelight draw was nice and clean with a spicey draw that gave a bit of a salty taste.

Just after toasting the foot and lighting it started with a smooth light spice and lots of white smoke.

The first half was creamy and medium flavor with some coffee notes bouncing off the taste buds. The burn was almost perfect and not hot at all.

The last half really built in the rich maduro spice and got even creamier with a nice chocolate/coffee flavor. The burn became perfect and the ash was mainly white and very firm with little to no flaking.

Summary...Camacho has continued to impress me with their line and I believe IMHO that they have a winner here. Gettem before the price goes up to match their quality.

As a teaser...I will be adding a '02' Camacho Liberty to my NC puts in the Mixed Box Pass

I got a SLR Maduro Rothchilde five pack from Atlanticcigar. They are magnificent. Such a powerhouse of flavor. I can't wait to try more Camachos.

They made a Torpedo!! YAY!!! I loved the little robusto size and only wished they had made it bigger. Finally my prayers are answered!

Re: Camacho SLR Maduro Torpedo

I just ordered the maduro torps from Mike's out of south Fl.

I have never smoke any. Do y'all think I should let them age a few months?

Thanks,

Mike

Since you have no idea how old they will be when they get to you, I would let them rest a week or so after their arrival, then smoke one. If you like it, keep on smoking them. If it tastes young, then wait a bit before you try them again. Good choice, btw

Re: Camacho SLR Maduro Torpedo

My shop just put these out on the discount table. $2 for the Robusto $3.50 for a toro. They just were never big sellers, but that's good for me.

Re: Camacho SLR Maduro Torpedo

Thanks for the review. Now I'm really excited to tuck into the Camacho maddies I picked up the last time I was at the local B&M.
