CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50) Review

I've been smoking the piranhas for awhile now and they are one of my absolute favorite smokes. They're a cigar I never want to run out of. I noticed these lambadas when I was shopping for some more piranhas. I had no idea they came in a toro shape. There are times when I want more than a piranha, and I figured it would be cheaper to keep a box of these along with a box of piranhas just for those times, instead of smoking 2 piranhas back to back, which can get expensive.

I haven't smoked any of the other Brazila shapes. The Gol, Ipanema, and Amazon are a turnoff for me. I don't like large ring cigars. I like to keep the cigar in my mouth, when I'm half way done with it, and chew on the nub a little. Anything over 50 ring and I can't close my mouth properly and the next thing I know I'm drippling down my chin like a mental patient. As far as the other shapes, I've never been able to find them at a decent price, and these lambadas were just $5 more than a box of piranhas, so in the shopping basket they went.

They arrived a few days ago and I've smoked two since. They're flavor is balanced just like the piranha. Overall, it's the same. Full bodied, a little bit spicy and a little bit sweet. The burn was even steven and the ash solid. I'm really impressed with the cap, it stood up to my gnawing without busting a stitch. The finish was stronger than the rest of the cigar, but still pleasant.

So if you like the piranhas, you'll like these. Maybe you'll even like them twice as much, since they burn for practically twice as long.

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

The Lambada's were just introduced. I agree, the ring guage on the other Brazilia's is a little much for me. I do smoke some of those other on occasion, but I like the Piranha the best. I am looking forward to trying the Lambada with the slightly smaller ring guage than the rest of the line. I picked up a couple at my local shop last week and they have been resting comfortably in my humidor ever since.

Nice review! I too am a fan of the piranha, but not so much of the larger RG's in the line. If the Lambada is a double piranha - yummy!

I am quickly becoming a fan of these CAO lines! I tried one of these two weeks ago at a tasting and agree with the spicy, yet sweet. It was very oily and dark and very good. I also tried a Italia Gondola for the first time last week and fell in love. The wrapper, sheen, burn, draw and taste were first rate....nice review!

C.A.O. is a great line. Just had a Brazilia GOL. As stated before the ring is thick but I like to hold it in my hand. The earthy flavors and smell keep me happy and wanting more. Next will be an Italia and then a Maduro Robusto.

I would like to give the pirhanas a try. I tried a CAO gold and it was too bland. Are they much better than the gold?

thanks

I believe they are! I too, think the gold is too mild. But the brazilias are yummy!

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

I just want to pipe back in and tell you again how much I love these. I smoked six more Lambadas since writing this review and two piranhas. And the piranhas were a let down after having smoked seven Lambadas. You have to understand, I love the Piranha, LOVE it, but it's just not enough anymore after these.

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

Brazilia replaced MX2 as my favorite CAO Cigar. I'm deffinately going to have to pick me up one of these today. I would like to buy some 5 packs of the Brazilia, Criollo and Italia (I like the Brazilia better) if I can find a place selling them for cheap enough. Any suggestions? Probably going to go with CI.

The Gold, Maduro, and Black really didn't do much of anything for me at all for some reason. I didn't like the extreme either. I think it will just take some getting use to and once I'm broke in, I will love them just as I do their other cigars.

Thanks for that mouth watering review. time to go pick a couple up.

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

Good review! I've only had 1 each of the Brazila Gol & MX2. Personally, I liked the MX2 better, but I'm willing to smoke a few more of each to get a better opinion!

Oh, JR's have the Piranhas in 5-packs for $12.75. FYI

I would go to CBid, you can always find 5 packs of the Brazilia and Criollo on there. I haven't seen the Italia's on there very much. Just know the cost of what you are bidding on and you can pick up some good deals.

CBid has been called the devil on here though, so be careful.

Here is one you might like:

5-Pack is normally $25 at CI....

Happy Hunting!

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

Sat in the garage, watched it rain, and smoked a Brazilia Amazon last night. The Brazilia line has always been a great smoke. I don't mind the larger ring size. The Lambada is one I have yet to try. Don't always have more than an hour to devote to a smoke.

Thanks for the review.

Check these guys out too:
http://www.smokeall.com
http://www.famous-smoke.com
http://www.cheapercigars.com/cigars.html

Another thing you might want to do, like I did, was get the CAO Commemorativo from here:
http://www.atlanticcigar.com/caoanmadcosr.html

Now I got this thing mainly to try a Criollo, MX2, and the Samba, but I was suprised to find it also contained an Italia! The Italia is not listed but my box came with a Ciao instead of the Extreme Churchill.

(so many edits and deletions because cut and paste has failed me!)

Re: CAO Brazilia Lambada (6x50)

Excellent! Thanks for the advice guys! I just got back from the smoke shop and picked up an MX2(for old-times sake), a Gold to give it another shot, and the Brazilia.

I saw that same CAO Commemerate pack at the smoke shop but it was fr around $45.

I'm not too good at auctions and such but I would deffinately be willing to try out Cbid. I'm not that competive.. Are these cigars coming from individuals or companies? If from individuals how can you assure that the quality is good? Are they buying them to resale on Cbid or just dont want what they are selling?

I am familiar with those three links you mentioned above but only have shopped with Famous before, bought a sampler of theirs. I am very interested in smoke all as they are a small family owned business and I've had the best results from vendors like.. (They also have really good customer service. I emailed them this morning with a quick shipping questions and they answered in very quickly!)

Thanks again. ClubStogie has revolutionized my cigar smoking experience! I'm off to meet Juan Lopez from Carlos Torano this friday and looking forward to meeting a couple of the KC area LLG's.

Atlantic and Cheaper are A1 vendors, highly recommend both of them. I've yet to order anything from Smokeall though.
