RP 1990 vs 1992 Review

this is one of my first review so go easy on me, thanks

a couple of days ago me and a couple of my buddies were thinkin and talkin about the rockey patels,"is there a real difference between the 1990 and the 1992?" we talked for a while and came up with some undecided answers. i like the 92 much better than the 90 and my other buddy felt just the opposite. so we figured the only was to settle the debate was to do a blind side by side tasting of the two.
a friend of ours got our sticks and took the bands off so we wouldn't know which one we where smoking so there wouldn't be any preconsived notions.

the first stick: the first one that we had ended up being the 1990. wow, was it a great looking cigar, dark and oily and nearly no blemishes. i chopped it and lit 'er up. a smooth fufilling smoke came through that was just to die for! after i got it an inch down i noticed that the ash on it was just amazing looking, and i could taste that there was suttle notes of vanilla, a little cedar and a hint of coconut, or some kind of tropical flavor, but just a slight after taste of it, not to were it tasted like it was a fruity cigar or anything like that just a hint. it stayed pretty consistent through out the whole smoke, but got slightly stronger as it went down, just right. i ended up smoking it down to the bitter nub

the second stick: the second one turned out to be, obviously, the 1992, totally different. it looked about the same and cut and lit well. it started out just like the 90 but soon became a little bolder and more distinct than the 90. the flavors were about the same, but they just didn't blend together as well as the 90 and it wasn't as creamy either. but none the less was still very good. but twards the end it started to get this real grassy taste that i had never tasted before in any other cigar.( it had come through in the other 92's that i had smoked before but not as strong) it made for a very unenjoyable finish on the stick.

the final thought: well after a good couple of hours committed to smoking two big ass churchhills( those were two really big cigars to smoke one right after the other, should have gotten teh robustos instead, oh well) i came to the comclusion that the 1990's just blew the 1992's out of the water. it was just a more flavorful balenced and fulfilling smoke than the 1992. but that's not to disscredit the 1992 at all. the 1992 is still a great smoke for me, but if i had to shose one i would deffinetly go for the 1990.
well happy herfin

Nice review - I like the '90 Robusto the best.

I just smoked the 1990 Torpedo and I was blown away, it's a gorgeous and great smoke.
