Post Montecristo Platinum Review

This is one of the smokes i had saturday at the beach . Dont really know which one is it, cause it was a gift from galaga, but it is the one that has a cedar wrapper. I really liked it. It started with a strong cedar smell and flavor(something that i had noticed in all the cigars ive had that come wrapped in cedar).

Through out the whole smoke it had nice smooth flavor, Mild-medium bodied. I smoked it up to 1/4" cause the smoke was getting hot. Only purged it once at half way down and after the purge, the cigar got really mild but not flavorless. Then slowly regained the medium smooth flavor i really enjoyed. I still tend to like Mild to medium smokes since i am a newbie so this was a good thing at least for me.

It had a nice construction and a very attractive color. The burn was perfect and it produced lots of smoke. not tight draw at all.

Thanks a lot Rick, I really enjoyed this cigar .

You're welcome. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Which beach were you at. If here in San Diego, it was a glorious week-end fer sure.

Re: Montecristo Platinum

It was in San Felipe Baja California . It is south from Mexicali. Sometimes it is really hot by this time of year, but this weekend was really nice. Dont think that as nice that in SD,(I love rosarito beach, almost same climate), but it was pretty good down over here

I had one of these a couple months ago i really liked it, i was hopeing someone would post about it. Mine had construction issues because i dont have a travel humidor so it got a little dried out and i had to relight it alot. But other then that it was great.

Re: Montecristo Platinum

I have found that the Por Delacroix has a pretty tight draw, at first. After it burns down an inch or so, it produces volumes of good smoke. The mini-belicoso I like better in this line tho'. Really nice cigars. Construction is flawless (except for the momentary tight draw on the Por D), and as was mentioned, burn was perfect. They could be a little less expensive in my opinion.

Yep... that's why I thought they were a little too pricey.
Still not a bad smoke.

Re: Montecristo Platinum

I cannot see spending the $$ for an average smoke - which I believe these are. Although I do really like some of the other Montecristos.
