Robert Burns Continental 1950s Review

Sorry folks, no pics of this one as I passed it around at the Central Texas herf yesterday among the early arrivals. So, in the spirit of sharing this great experience, I'll ask everyone who had a puff or two to contribute their thoughts about this unique smoke (yazzie, williegstyles, papichulo).

For starters, this unique slim panatela-styled cigar comes with a mouthpiece/tip/holder that's wrapped into the cigar itself--yes, like a Swisher or whatnot. However, the flavor was far from Swisher-esque! A "clear Havana" from the lot that's been making the circuit around here lately, this came in a five-pack, each individually packed in its own paper "coffin" and wrapped in cello. No need to cut this thing, obviously, but the light was smooth and the burn was very, very straight!

To my tastes, the most prominent flavor was a mild but tangy spice--somewhere between a sweet cinnamon and nutmet, plus smooth grassy Havana flavor in abundance. The smoke itself was velvety to me; each puff produced billows of fragrant smoke that rolled easily out of the mouth. I didn't pick up on any major profile shifts in the flavor, save for a roasty-ness that developed towards the end of the stick.

So, Mark, Greg, Brent--what were your impressions of this bizarre smoke?! Chime in!

Re: 1950s Robert Burns Continental

I've been loving the reviews that have been coming out from Hollywood's pull of Clear Havana's.

Re: 1950s Robert Burns Continental

Just to set the tone a bit. Being new to the board, this was my first Club Stogie Herf. Within 5 minutes of showing up Muziq passes me what apeared to look like a Swisher So I'm thinking, Hmmm, what have I got myself in to? But he immediately told me it was 50's Robert Burns Continental. My thoughts on the 5 or 6 "puff-passes" I experienced were that I also was able to detect a very clear spicyness. to me it was a bit like a PSD4 although the spice was much more sweeter versus the classic Partagas spice.
