Thumbs up Flor d'Oliva Corojo 5X50 Review

I got this bundle shipped out to me at post in West Africa. I was looking for a decent full tasting bundle. I bought this with another box of Joya de Nic Antano Belicosos. I figured I break the bundle and try one before laying them down for a week or so.

I unwrapped all the plastic and put these in the humi. The FdO Corojos have an aroma of raking autumn leaves straight out of the plastic. The wrappers were very nice and had a Cuban look. Seemed well rolled, maybe a little dry from the journey. I punched it and lit it up. Nice draw and a good volume of smoke. A sharp couple draws at the beginning, settled into nice full bodied leather and nutty flavors, with a floral hint. Similar to the Cuban Roman Allones of the same size (still have a few of these left). The ash stayed firm until I tapped it off at about an inch and a half. As they were a touch dry, I experienced some mild wrapper split, but this didn't effect the draw or taste. It is the perfect humidity outside these days (and in the house) for cigars. The cigar continued to deliver the goods. It just got better really, and settled into an excellent smoke. Very rich and full bodied as expected, but toasty and not ridiculous at all. I nubbed it. At $40 for 25, it is a deal. A great smoke, these are going to be even better over the next month or so in the humi.

I'll smoke just about anything, but prefer fat Cubans and Nicaraguans. This one is a winner.

Re: Flor d'Oliva Corojo 5X50

Great review. The Flor De Oliva has always been my favorite bundle cigar. I have only smoked the maduros and a few of the 10th Anniiversary. The maduro is my favorite and I always keep a couple of bundles around. But your review has comvinced me I need to try the corojo. Thanks

Excellent review. I agree that they are surely super swell smokes especially for the price. When low on cash, I swing towards the FDO's.

Re: Flor d'Oliva Corojo 5X50

Hey,

The Corojo is a fine cigar. I picked up a bundle of these 5X50's about 2 months ago and I must say it is by far my favorite Corojo. I liked it more than the Punch RC and the Camacho Corojo Puro. Oliva did a top notch job on these and I say they are among the best deal for sticks on the market.

Enjoy,

ATL
