Arganese Maduro Presidente Robusto Review
I received this tasty stick from stogieguy a couple of months ago as part of the winnings in the cigar review contest he ran. So it's only fitting that I review THIS cigar, right? Right.
Arganese Maduro Presidente Robusto. 5" x 50 ring Dominican filler & binder, Brazilian Matafina wrapper Cost: about $6 from a couple of site checked. (Contest winning:Priceless) Medium dark wrapper that won't win any beauty prizes. Some large veins & stems protrude throughout. However, it was also absolutely covered with gorgeous little oily bumps. It felt light, & was a little spongy when pressed. ![]() ![]() Pretty cold day here yesterday (about 40 at Noon with a nonstop wind), so I jumped right in with lighting my lunch. A little sharp to start, with strong espresso, pepper & wood flavors. Medium to full strength, almost full at this point. And very rich tasting, full in the mouth. Excellent draw on it, too. About an inch in, cocoa flavors emerge. Like a Padron 2000 maduro, but ramped up a bit. It soon smooths out, reducing the peppery bite. A very nice combination of espresso, cocoa & a little wood with a touch of pepper, but not too much. It stays pretty consistent from here. And the burn remains even. Draw continues to deliver good amounts of smoke. A little past half-time, a citrusy orange creeps into the mix, but just for a little while. I'm enjoying this smoke, let me tell you. ![]() Into the last third, the strength picks up again, the flavors predominantly espresso & wood with a little nuttiness. I put the stick down with about an inch left. I could have continued, but it was getting colder as the afternoon progressed, & I had to work on the standing rib roast dinner I was cooking for friends. Overall, I really enjoyed this cigar. I was surprised at the straight burn, given what appeared to be construction flaws. Excellent espresso flavors in a mostly medium-to-full strength. Better than a CAO Brazilia. Better than a Perdomo Reserve Maduro. I recommend this stogie to any of you who enjoy these brands. Thanks, stogieguy, for the chance to sample this cigar!

Great review. Really like the pictures. Have not heard much of this brand, but sounds intriguing.
