Talking Fonseca Habana Seleccion Delicias Review

The evil auction website waved it's bony claw at me summoning me to my doom. Like a moth attracted to a flame I fluttered over to the 5 pack auctions and found a lot of Fonseca Habana Seleccion Delicias'. Having had Fonsecas before I decided to try these, because, hey, they said Habana on them and you can't go wrong with a good Habana, right? You know something? They were right. This is one of the best smokes that I have had in a non Cuban cigar since I have started smoking cigars. To make sure of this I smoked 3 of them to see any inconsistencies.

Appearance: 9.5

How did it look? The wrapper is a cuban seed Criollo 98 with an inviting nut brown color and a wonderful tobacco smell. Construction is firm and it has a solid feel to it. Pre-light draw was good on all that I have tried.

Burn: 9.0

Burn was fairly consistent but I had issues with them for the first third of the cigar. After they got going the burn evened out and was quite good the rest of the way down. These babies were smoky too, and others around me really thought that they smelled very good. Even the non smoking friends agreed that they smelled good.

Flavor: 9.5

This tasted as good as it smelled. Nothing fancy but a good solid flavor. First third was pleasant and smooth. Second third had hints of spice but was not overpowering. Last third got a little bit intense but still very pleasant. This was a smooth tasting cigar in all 3 tries.

Strength: 9.0

These babies were spot on for me for strength. Not too strong, and not too mild, but very decent.

Value: 9.5

They retail for about 5 and you can get them for about 4 online. This is a good value, in my opinion. If you can get them for less at the evil auction website, go for it. You will not be disappointed in any case.

Overall: 9.3

This cigar will be one of my go to cigars for a while. I would readily give one out to friends to try. Also they are very affordable and are great for a decent smoke that you don't have a lot of time for. The only problem I have is I only have 2 left and my budget is sort of blown for the month.

Nice review! I like these also. I picked up 5 of the tissue wrapped size (don't remember what size that is) and each was a good smoke. The didn't last long in my humi.

I got two boxes of these from CI a little while back. Great value even at normal price and a very decent smoke. Handed some out at the herf.

Re: Fonseca Habana Seleccion Delicias

Thanks for the review, but you are way off, these sticks are the worst things I have ever had!

Everyone stay away from them on c-bid for at least a week
(so I can get mine before this review drives the price up)

Just smoked the last of the 10 I had and need some more of these at the great prices I got them before.

Seriously, very nice review and right on from what I have experienced so far.

I was torn between making this review or keeping it a dirty, little secret.

It was a 6.0 by 43. Very nice size without getting overbearing. Also a good smoke if you have less than half an hour to smoke it.

Nice review. I like these also. My poker playing buddies love the smell of them. For me it is a good smoke if your undecided, and good for riding the mower too. I am out now, but had some about 6 mos. old. They mellowed out nicely. I'm gonna get another bundle if I can catch a winning bid.
